Where this truck driving life started

I can't believe it is August already! Time is going by so fast; It is time to look back, way back to the early 1990s for the beginning of my journey as a truck driver's wife.

My husband Andy and I came back from Germany in 1991 as he volunteered out of the Army during the drawdown of forces. We moved back to my hometown of Pueblo, Colorado to start our civilian life with our daughter Harlee.๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

Andy looked for a job anywhere he could in Pueblo but It was hard to find jobs after being in the military.ย  So he decided to enroll in truck driving school because that was his dream as a kid.๐Ÿšš

He graduated in the top half of his class and got a job with Stevens Transport based out of Texas. He was on the road for 6 to 8 weeks at a time without getting to come home. Now, remember, this was before cell phones and face time.๐Ÿ–ฅ

We got a 1-800 number for the home because it was cheaper than long-distance charges. We would have to schedule our phone call time so I would be home to take the call and he would stop at a truck stop to use the phone. โ˜Ž

It was tough being without Andy all that time but we got through it. I lived in my hometown with my family and spent a lot of time with my grandparents.ย  ๐Ÿฅฐ

I have learned that I can get through anything and have gone through a lot! I am still intact and am thriving. Life is a choice, we choose how we live it. I love my life even the tough struggles I have gone through because they are what molded me into the person I am today! ๐Ÿ’–
